Leafyridge Olives is owned and managed by the Leaf-Wright family. The grove was established in July 1999, with the first commercial quantities of Leafyridge Extra Virgin Olive Oil available in 2005, for which they won a silver medal at the NZ Olive Oil awards. The following year they won two gold medals, and have continued to produce award-winning oil ever since.
The same climate conditions that produce Gladstone’s incredible wines, are also ideal for producing some of the finest extra virgin olive oil in the world. The trees grow in the stony, free draining soils so typical of the Wairarapa, alongside the Ruamahanga River. The cold, wet winters followed by long, hot, dry summer days are perfect conditions for the olives, resulting in oils with uniquely fresh flavours to gratify even the most discerning palate.
There are two rooms available as a BNB, and the tasting room is open by appointment, please call Craig on 021 984 866.
